"POINT ARROW TO DOT"

A series of insect repellant cans that have been cut open and placed over arched metal armatures. Each can displays an elegant oil painting of a specific insect variety. Each of these cans are linked together with a series of small speakers that emit a variety of ambient insect vibrations.

As we look to further isolate ourselves from the outside world, we in turn hold the fate of all creatures, great and small, at our disposal. But in the end, these pests become more resistant to the poisons of mankind. Able to mutate these resistances into stronger, more impervious species, these life forms march forward, leaving mankind to live with the poisons they have created.

"IN A PIG'S EAR"

An ongoing series, currently consisting of 192 floral paintings on pig ears. The ears are attached to stainless steel wall mounts and can be displayed in a variety of grid formats. The series looks to address perceptions of beauty and what David Hickey has termed, "beauty's ability to empower an audience to expand its way of looking at things. The challenge for the artist is to create an image of beauty about which there is an atmosphere of danger."
